Cleveland Museum of Natural History Conservation Symposium

Sep 8, 2017, 9:00am - 4:00pm

Registration is now OPEN for this year’s Conservation Symposium, titled Cabinets of Curiosity: Celebrating Natural History Collections. Our keynote speaker is Darrin Lunde, author of The Naturalist: Theodore Roosevelt, A Lifetime of Exploration, and the Triumph of American Natural History. Mr. Lunde’s presentation will trace Roosevelt’s advocacy for natural history collections in America and his ideal that the most effective conservation measures stem from a firm grasp of the natural sciences, all of which have their foundations in museum collections.

A schedule of presentations and other details can be found at: https://www.cmnh.org/conservation-symposium

The Conservation Symposium remains affordable due to the support of our Conservation Symposium Sponsors. Sincere thanks to Cleveland Metroparks, Cleveland Metroparks Zoo, Cleveland Zoological Society, The Holden Arboretum, Lake Metroparks, Summit Metro Parks, The Nature Conservancy, Ohio Division of Wildlife, Northeast Ohio Sierra Club, The Trout Club of The Cleveland Museum of Natural History, Western Reserve Land Conservancy and The Wilderness Center.

Hope to see many of you on Friday, Sept. 8.
