Behavior – Feeding Style Dabblers and Divers
Some of the time that you spend watching birds move about will be spent watching them feed. Diving ducks, or "divers," are ducks that propel themselves underwater with large feet attached to short legs situated far back on the body. "Dabblers," in contrast, have smaller feet and their legs are situated farther forward. You can develop an impression of many birds just from a few seconds of watching them forage.
