The new Central Ohio OCVN Chapter held their Graduation Ceremony at Shale Hollow Nature Preserve, Delaware County in October of 2014.

OSU Extension in the School of Environment and Natural Resources and Preservation Parks of Delaware County in partnership with Stratford Ecological Center, The City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department and the Central Ohio Chapter of the Isaak Walton League offered the Ohio Certified Volunteer Naturalist Program to 21 new volunteers from both Delaware and Franklin counties.  They completed the education course in October, 2014. The instructors were from Preservation Parks, Stratford Ecological Center, The Ohio State University, Delaware County Soil and Water Conservation District, and the City of Columbus.  Twenty of the 21 participants stated that they either “agreed” or “strongly agreed” that they felt confident with their ability to serve as a volunteer naturalist after completing the program.
