Earn Professional Development Credit while learning and living on a Lake Erie island
at Ohio State's Stone Lab
 
2014 EDUCATOR/TEACHER PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT
 
For more than 20 years, educators from across the Great Lakes region and
beyond have completed their professional development requirements and
worked towards their Highly Qualified Teacher certification at Stone Laboratory.
In just one week of hands-on experience, educators can learn fresh ways to
incorporate science into their lesson plans, while earning two semester credit
hours. Plus, all educators are eligible for tuition assistance. All classes below can
also be taken as non-credit workshops if the credit hours are not needed.
Teachers can choose from these upper-level classes:
Principles of Oceanography for Educators
June 15-June 21
Field Ecology
June 27-August 2
Group Studies: Climate & Sustainability
August 3-August 9
Marine and Aquatic Education
August 3-August 9
Geologic Setting of Lake Erie

Alphyl Scholarships established by Dr. Vic Mayer are also available for
